HSR Europe produces a number of publications that are relevant to health services researchers and health policy-makers inside and outside Europe. Each contributes to refining a European agenda of priorities in health services research (HSR), tuned to the information needs of health policy-makers. Focus is on several substantive areas of HSR: health systems comparison, service delivery, health technology assessment, benchmarking, and linkage and exchange between research and policy.

Policy brief 'Health services research: helping tackle Europe's health care challenges'

A special policy brief addresses how HSR can help decision-makers tackle the challenges they face and provides a summary overview of major research priorities in different research areas. It also offers possible directions for improving the contribution of HSR to policy-making, both at European and national level.

Future updates:

In the summer of 2011, a special Supplement Issue of the Journal of Health Services Research & Policy will be published, which contains a selection of articles with key results of the project. We will continue organising activities around existing conferences. In 2011 this already included sessions at AcademyHealth’s Annual Research Meeting and at EHMA’s annual conference. In addition, we will organise a special preconference training day in HSR at the annual EUPHA/ASPHER conference in November 2011.

If you would like to learn more, please register for our newsletter and receive a notification when new publications or activities will be launched.

Currently, the website contains more information about our project activities and outcomes of a special working conference, which took place at 8 and 9 April 2010. In addition, posters of presenters are available, as well as information about the consortium partners.
